Expert analysis
Specific parts of the interface undergo expert analysis which allows us to determine and define its most problematic elements. A group of experts assesses the compatibility of individual parts of the interface with a standard list of guidelines applied in evaluation methodology.
A group of independent experts compiles a list of incompatibilities which they prioritize and arrange, from the most to the least troublesome for the users. The experts in question specialize in the so-called ‘human factor’, human-computer interaction and related fields.
The autonomy of the experts assures objective, unbiased comments and observations, independent of those of the client. The results are not influenced by their involvement in the creative process which guarantees their impartial views on the problems the potential users might encounter.
The analysis is conducted after the website user scenario is decided upon. The testing tasks are identical to those which are used during behavioural research.
The purpose
The interface analysis should be done in all cases when the user is supposed to find proper functions and information quickly. Expert analysis may be used as an independent research tool or together with behavioural tests.
We may review projects at all stages – from the very early ones, such as draft versions and prototypes, to already functioning websites and applications. Naturally, it is always better to run the tests at the developmental stages, during the creative process or even shortly before release, rather than face the consequences of a malfunctioning website.
Specified list of recommendations how to make the necessary improvements, prepared on the basis of behavioural tests and expert analysis, complete the process.
Planning
Expert analysis may take from one to several weeks, including preparation and reporting. It is recommended for clients to plan such procedures in advance and to book in advance both, the date and the experts.
Confidentiality
The results remain strictly confidential and under no circumstances are rendered accessible to a third party or published.
Benefits
A complete report on all problems and difficulties the users have encountered constitutes the result of the research. It includes pictures and detailed descriptions of all investigated cases, as well as a list of recommended alterations and improvements. The final report usually comprises from 60 to 100 pages.
Price
The price depends on an individual project and usually amounts up to 6.000-8.000PLN.
